Eastern Food Journal

Write for us

We welcome pitches that make eastern food cultures more legible through a specific dish, ingredient, technique, food history or shared-meal custom. Send proposals through the Contact page.

What makes a strong pitch

Start with one focused question and explain what a reader will understand after reading the piece. A good proposal has a clear subject, a reason it matters, and a defined angle rather than a broad overview of an entire cuisine or region. Show how you will handle variation and what reliable references could support the account.

Useful contribution shapes

We consider explanatory features, comparisons of ingredients or methods, historical context and carefully framed accounts of food customs. Practical cooking subjects should be suitable for general readers and avoid unsupported health promises. We do not need a finished article with a pitch.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a proposed title, a short summary, the intended category and a brief description of your relevant perspective. Please do not send confidential material or claim credentials you do not hold.
